The containership business had been losing huge money for many years. In addition, the customer procurement network has expanded to the world, and it has become impossible for one company to handle the requirement of the customers. Japanese three biggest shipping companies have gathered and evaluated the situation to overcome this issue. As the final decision MOL, NYK and K-Line has decided to emerge their container departments into one company, for adding the competitiveness against the other mega container carriers.
In 2018 Ocean Network Express (ONE) started its operation worldwide. As expected, it was a slow start however with last 2 years it showed the growth.
In Turkey, the new company “Ocean Network Express Turkey Denizcilik A.S.” is handling the container ship business.
